It
is indeed a pleasure to welcome you, in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ, to the web site of Severna Park United Methodist Church (SPUMC).
Our church was founded in 1965, and since then has been a friendly place
for persons of all ages. We are seeking the best in life, and that
is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our church family
offers many opportunities for personal Christian growth. Our
programs are as varied as our interests. We are blessed with an
abundance of children, youth and adults who lead worship, participate in
our church school, and fellowship together with an energy that proclaims
"open hearts, open minds, and open doors." We hope that you will
visit us personally and become a member of our family. ...

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
We would love to have you join us
at Severna Park United Methodist Church to celebrate the coming of
Christ on Christmas Eve! We will be having four distinct worship
services. Anyone is welcome to attend each service! Families and
children are welcome at each of the services and childcare will be
provided at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00 during worship. We hope to have you
join us in worship on this very special occasion!
5:00 – Children and
Family Worship Service - Rev. Lee
This unique service is especially suited for celebrating Christmas with
our children. The 2nd grade Sunday School Class will share their
Christmas Pageant, the children’s choirs will sing, and the service will
conclude with the SPUMC tradition of singing happy birthday to Jesus.
Childcare will be provided.
7:00 - Family Worship Service - Rev. Jim
The 7:00 service will be characterized by a variety of special music
offerings. Several of our college students and other members of the
congregation will be offering special music pieces. This service will
also incorporate many of the traditional elements found in the 11:00
Christmas Eve service, including Candle Light. Childcare will be
provided.
9:00 – Contemporary Worship Service - Rev. Nicole
The 9:00 service will feature music from our Contemporary Choir who will
be accompanied by one of the SPUMC Praise Teams. This service will have
a distinct contemporary feel and will lack much of the formal liturgy
found in traditional worship services. We will close the service with
Candle Light. Childcare will be provided.
11:00 – Traditional Worship Service - Rev. Jim
The 11:00 service will be characterized by traditional liturgy, music,
and Candle Light. The spirit of worship will be enhanced by our
Sanctuary Choir and Handbells. The uniqueness of this service lies not
only in the style of worship but also in the fact that the service will
conclude at midnight on Christmas morning as we light candles and sing
Silent Night together. Childcare is not provided for this service.
